Previously, he worked for six years at the International Energy Agency, where he was notably in charge of Russia and sub-Saharan Africa, focusing particularly on gas and oil analysis in these areas and institutional relations. Marc-Antoine Eyl-Mazzega also worked at the Robert Schuman Foundation, where he led an observatory on Ukraine. Holding dual French and German nationality, he holds a doctorate from the Paris Institute of Political Studies.
