Prof. Abdellah MOUTTAQI

Expert in mining development, Adjunct Professor at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, and member of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (CESE), Abdellah MOUTTAQI served as General Secretary of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), board member of several mining companies, president of the Senior Officials Committee of the CTS on Trade, Industry, and Mining Resources of the African Union (2019-2020), rapporteur on climate change issues within the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa (UCESA), and member of the board and council of the Mineral Industry Federation (FDIM). Working and authoring several publications on sustainable socio-economic and human development, particularly in the realm of extractive industry and responsible governance, he was the rapporteur of the CESE opinion adopted in February 2023 titled “Strategic and Critical Minerals Contributing to Morocco’s Industrial Sovereignty.” Abdellah MOUTTAQI holds a State Doctorate in Metallogeny from Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech, Morocco, obtained in 1997.
