Roseline Anna Coumba MBAYE

She is a geological engineer graduated from the Institute of Earth Sciences at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. She also holds a Master’s degree in Mining Environment and Safety from the Ecole des Mines d’Alès in France and a Master’s degree in Finance and Public Management from ISF Dakar.

Since August 2021, she has held the position of Director General of Mines after serving as Director of Mines and Geology for two years between 2019 and August 2021.

Following the reorganization of the Ministry in charge of Mines in 2015, she was appointed the first Director of the new Directorate of Control and Monitoring of Mining Operations from 2015 to 2019.

Previously, she held the position of Head of the Regional Mines and Geology Service for the Thiès Region between 2011 and 2015 and Head of the Mines and Quarries Division at the Directorate of Mines and Geology.

Between 2008 and 2010, she closely worked on the implementation of the Gold Mining Support Project, a component of the Mining Sector Support Program funded by the European Union, as the counterpart to the Project Manager.

For several years, she has been involved in training engineering students at the Institute of Earth Sciences by conducting seminars on Sustainable Development and Environmental Management in Mines.

She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Mining Senegal.
