Dr Joseph Mankelow is a geology and minerals data specialist with over 25 years’ experience. As Head of Minerals at the British Geological Survey, he is responsible for a team delivering high-quality outputs from applied research on the sustainable supply of mineral resources and associated policy. He assists national and local government decision makers with issues regarding planning for and the future supply of minerals. He has worked with geological surveys across Africa, providing technical expertise relating to mineral potential, mineral licensing (cadastre), and mineral information system development.
